Thorin is the leader of the dwaves. He leads te dwarves and Bilbo on a conquest that will take them to the mountian of Smaug. There, e wants to get revenge for all his people -- that used to reign there -- and have Smaug killed. He is also greedy and would rather risk his life than a peice of the tresure. Even in the presence of the Great Giblin he refused to seak about the tresure. He does value himself more worthy of: tresure, food, water, and other supplies because he is their leader. Later on he will be their king. e doesn't exactly have a warm and friendly hospitality towards is other dwarves, but does take care of them and protect them. I'm guessing he had this trip to Smaug planned for a while because it seem that he had trained for it. He already had the privisons ready and he knew how to use both a bow and arrow and a sword. All in all Thorin is a very important reason why the dwarves survived so long, and why most will keep surviving. I think that he is a little hothead and full of himself, if not implusive. He does HEED the words others give him, but he doesnt always follow the warning. He often strays off letting the risk of death chase at their heals, but with both im and Bilbo the calavde manages to get on quite well expect for the occasional scare or two.
